Addendum :
Responsible for management of company database platforms, including Oracle and SQL Server administration, database architecture and standards, security, performance, high-availability, backup and disaster recovery.
Currently there is a team of 3 DBA's for the entire company (Oracle & SQL Server) they plan on possibly doubling in size in 2019, this position will head this department and be responsible for future growth. This position will be the back-up Oracle DBA, so it will be partially a hands-on position. The primary responsibilities will be managing the DBA's.
Departmental Functions which include : Strategy (Create/define/Implement Strategic Direction) Work Load Upgrades and Migrations Performance Improvement and Tuning Optimization Introduce new functions Personnel Management Functions :
Individual growth: increase skill sets Employee reviews / progression Discipline Encouragement / Mentoring Approving time off.
Need to be well versed in Oracle preferably v.11 or above, currently they have v.11 and plan to migrate to v.12 or to RAC Enterprise (SQL Server Exp is a plus). Someone that has grown-up with different versions of Oracle would be beneficial. Must have Management Experience, not a team lead or someone who supervised a team on a project. This position will help define, recommend and create the roadmaps for migration. This will be partly a hands-on technical position.
