Heavy Equipment Operator – Grounds Control of Huntsville, Inc. We are looking for experienced equipment operators to operate Track hoe, Dozer, Backhoe and other heavy construction equipment. Responsibilities Set up and maintenance of erosion control Load and unload materials Shovel dirt, gravel and materials General clean up around job site Check and maintain grade stakes Monitor gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly Perform daily maintenance checks Ensure all tools are stored properly at the end of each shift. Perform minor repairs to the equipment if needed Notify department lead of any potential safety or equipment issues immediately. Follow processes and procedures correctly. Wear appropriate clothing, shoes and personal protective equipment. Competencies Ability to acquire understanding and absorb new information (quick study). Able to be careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Capable of working in a team setting and establishing collaborative peer relationships. Can detect problems, errors, omissions, miscalculations and non‑compliance against requirements. Can plan, organize and schedule work efficiently; focus on key priorities, juggle multiple projects and manage time effectively. Requirements Reliable transportation. Ability to work 8–10 hours/day, 5–6 days/week. Some overtime will be required, but not guaranteed each week. Days only, no nights, some weekends. Summary: The machine operator will operate equipment to achieve overall ride quality and appearance. Will work and operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all safety and environmental rules.
