The Heavy Equipment Hauler is responsible for moving heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, and other pieces of equipment. The Heavy Equipment Hauler must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life Main Activities Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures Perform daily safety and maintenance checks Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored Advise the Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs Participate in routine maintenance Workplace safety Knowledge Knowledge of truck and equipment safety Knowledge of operation of front end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, and other pieces of heavy equipment Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures Knowledge of record keeping system Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures Knowledge of proper chaining of all machinery Skills ability to operate seven axel trucks in a safe and responsible manner ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner effective verbal and listening communications skills ability to read and write to record pickups and maintain daily records and logs stress management skills Class A CDL w/ Air brake endorsement and up to date medical card Must be registered with the Clearinghouse Hiring will be contingent on passing a drug screen and a Motor Vehicle Report Record check May require out of town work Dependent upon achievement of certain employment status and eligibility requirements the company offers the following benefits: Hiring Bonus 401K-With Employer Match Paid Time Off Paid Holidays Health Insurance 100% Employer Paid Paid Accommodations for Overnight Travel Subsistence Pay for Overnight Travel Employee Assistance program Employee Owned-ESOP First Rate Excavate provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
