Responsibilities and Qualifications The USD Domestic Payments Product Manager is pivotal in providing the direction and end to end management of our payment products and services, with a special focus on USD domestic payment methods and rails. The incumbent owns responsibility for defining and implementing the overall product strategy, understanding the risks associated with the product, development of new products and commercialization of these products. The role requires a deep understanding of the different payment options available to corporate and institutional businesses within the United States, spanning across well-established methods such as wires, ACH and checks to more recent developments in real‑time and alternative payment methods. Understanding of client challenges/opportunities and industry trends will be required as inputs into the payments strategic product roadmap and commercialization strategy. Familiarity with cross-border payments and/or domestic payments in other markets will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities include:
Driving the payments product strategy forward through partnership with key stakeholders including Engineering in developing solutions that utilize the latest technology to provide value to clients. The role has end‑to‑end oversight over the product and the delivery of industry‑leading solutions alongside a robust risk management framework.
Operating as a subject matter expert for one or more USD domestic payment mechanisms. Demonstrating an in‑depth understanding of commercial application and usage of payment products within the corporate B2B and B2C space among others.
Commercialization of transaction banking services by packaging products into solutions that provide value to clients and the creation and delivery of product materials and marketing strategies.
Moderate travel may be required for the role.
Ideal candidate has:
Experience as a payments product manager or payments product development lead or product sales specialist.
Detailed payment rail knowledge, particularly in USD wire, ACH and checks, with broader familiarity in cross‑border and global payments.
Good understanding of risks and controls entailed in end to end payment execution and the delivery of payment services. Ability to balance attention to detail with high level business goals and strategy.
Proven track record of delivering initiatives on‑time whilst balancing customers’ outcomes, business needs, technical feasibility and product risks.
Demonstrable ability to partner with operations, engineering and control teams to deliver best in class solutions.
Experience of end‑to‑end product ownership from ideation to commercialization, working in a diverse global team driving rapid team and product growth.
Comfort in client‑facing situations when partnering with sales teams, with the ability to understand and articulate customer needs and turn requirements into actionable solutions.
Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills and experience of maintaining requirements and information in JIRA and Confluence.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
8-12 years of experience in payments / settlement / treasury management role
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
In depth knowledge of & experience with USD payment rails. US ACH and Check expertise will be an advantage.
Moderate familiarity & experience of industry standards, practices and innovation across payments and cash management domains (e.g. ISO 20022, SWIFT, NACHA, X9)
