Position Title: Lead System Engineer
Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO

Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time
Description of Duties The Lead System Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise solutions (IRES) contract.
The candidate will:
Perform Systems Engineering and Project Management activities including, but not limited to: requirements analysis, scheduling, documentation and traceability matrix development, preliminary design, critical design, detailed design, test and evaluation, research and development, implementation and fielding, sustainment and operations throughout the entire life cycle of the MDSEA program
Scope and execute: studies, analysis, detailed requirements definition, system engineering, preliminary and detailed system architecture designs, system development of Enterprise Services, satellite ground systems, operations centers to include all supporting facilities
Maintain alignment to support Team Leads: infrastructure, networks, integration, logistics plans, cybersecurity and physical security protection plans, cost and schedule estimates for the development, fielding, tests, and operations of planned space capabilities
Perform impact assessments of customer requests
Develop and present briefings for internal customers and external stakeholders
Coordinate across the MDSEA environment and supported tenants
Ensure MDSEA products, services, and capabilities are delivered to the customers
Validate and verify documentation of MDSEA Enterprise solutions
Provide mentorship for Jr and Mid-Level System Engineers
Serve as manager and functional lead for MDSEA System Engineers, MDSEA Ground System Engineers, and DevSecOPS teams
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
Must have 12, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
May be reduced with completion of advanced education
Must have 6, or more, years directly related to the support or management of IT systems in a systems engineering or architecture role/capacity within a DoD and/or Commercial enterprise
Must have 2, or more, years directly leading and managing systems engineers within a DoD and/or Commercial enterprise
Must have subject matter expertise in systems engineering within a virtualized and highly containerized environment
Must have a working knowledge of the following technical/management skills: Linux and Windows systems administration, storage management, effective database management techniques, and project management
Desired Qualifications
Have documented experience developing and editing Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products for major space and IT systems
Have extensive experience and working knowledge in both ballistic missile defense and space applications/systems
