Teldar Drywall & Paint with The Garrett Companies is eager to add an Assistant Superintendent to our team in Fort Myers that will play a critical support role in the daily execution of drywall and paint operations on active construction sites. This position works closely with the Superintendent to coordinate crews, monitor progress, enforce safety, assist with scheduling, maintain documentation, and ensure field operations run efficiently and in alignment with Teldar standards.

This role requires a highly dependable individual who demonstrates initiative, accountability, and a strong work ethic. Assistant Superintendents must show up prepared, anticipate needs, and support the Superintendent with consistent follow‐through. The ideal candidate is motivated, trustworthy, and committed to their long‑term growth within Teldar.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Support the Superintendent in coordinating and supervising all drywall and paint activities on the project.

Actively walk the jobsite to understand daily activities, safety concerns, progress, and manpower needs.

Monitor subcontractors’ work for quality, completeness, and adherence to plans and specifications.

Assist in resolving field issues by identifying challenges early and proposing solutions.

Assist with developing, monitoring, and updating the project schedule, reporting any delays or impacts.

Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely material deliveries.

Assist with scheduling and preparing for municipal inspections, utility coordination, testing, and owner‑requested inspections.

Promote safe work practices, enforce all safety protocols, and correct unsafe behavior or conditions immediately.

Participate in daily or weekly safety meetings as required.

Maintain accurate daily logs, site photos, manpower reports, and material tracking.

Assist in preparing Superintendent Daily Reports, forecasting, and progress reports.

Document any delays, issues, conflicts, or changes impacting the project.

Communicate consistently with the Superintendent, Project Engineer, and Project Manager.

Maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, design teams, and clients.

Participate in weekly subcontractor meetings and monthly progress meetings as needed.

Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe jobsite and field office.

Help manage inventory, equipment needs, and tool availability to keep crews efficient.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

2–4 years of experience in drywall, paint, or general construction.

Working knowledge of construction sequencing, drywall systems, and finishing standards.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.

Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.

Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

Proficiency with mobile construction technology.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to traverse property, jobsite, and multi‑level buildings.

Prolonged periods standing, walking, and occasional computer work.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
