Sales Engineer, Enterprise High-Performance Storage,
to join our
Global Sales Team.
Role Overview
As a
Sales Engineer for Tuxera’s
Enterprise High-Performance Storage
portfolio, you are the technical linchpin between customers and Tuxera’s engineering organization. You’ll partner with
Account Executives
to win complex deals, guide evaluations and integrations, and ensure our customers achieve outstanding performance and reliability at scale.
You combine deep technical credibility with clear, confident communication—equally comfortable whiteboarding architectures, interpreting benchmarking results, or translating customer needs into actionable product requirements.

What You’ll Do
Own the technical sales cycle:
Lead discovery, map customer requirements to Tuxera capabilities, deliver tailored demos and POCs, and remove technical blockers through to close.
Customer integration support:
Provide practical guidance during product evaluation and integration—covering configuration, tuning, and best practices for throughput, latency, and durability.
Architect with impact: Design and document reference architectures for on-prem, cloud, and hybrid deployments, including data paths, security posture, and HA/scale strategies.
Network & protocol expertise:
Analyze
benchmark results
and optimize end-to-end performance for SMB/NFS and related stacks; advise on TCP/IP tuning, authentication, name services, and directory integration.
Issue reproduction & triage:
Collect diagnostic data and benchmarking outputs from customer environments, reproduce issues, and collaborate with Tuxera Engineering and Support for rapid resolution.
Cross-functional collaboration:
Work closely with Product Management to define and shape roadmap items, and with QA/DevOps to validate performance and robustness in CI/CD environments.
Enablement & advocacy: Create technical collateral (runbooks, sizing guides, tuning checklists) and deliver workshops or webinars for customers and partners.
Project coordination:
Keep evaluations on schedule; align stakeholders; and communicate status, risks, and next steps clearly and proactively.
What You Bring
Strong knowledge of
Linux user-space
and
POSIX/Libc fundamentals .
Hands‑on experience with
networking protocols
(TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, ARP) and
enterprise services
(Kerberos, LDAP/AD).
Familiarity with
SMB, NFS , or other file‑sharing and network protocols (strong plus).
Strong understanding of
Windows/POSIX ACLs .
Knowledge of
multichannel and
RDMA/SMBD
technologies.
Experience
benchmarking storage, network, and client‑server performance .
Experience with
storage architecture
for
on‑premises enterprise
as well as
cloud
environments.
Experience with
HA (high availability) clustered software solutions .
Comfort working in
AWS, Azure, and GCP
environments.
Comfortable working with
Windows
and
macOS
systems.
Proficiency with
performance tuning
and
diagnostic tools
(e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
Proven experience in
pre‑sales, post‑sales, or field engineering
roles—able to build trust, simplify complexity, and align technical and business stakeholders.
Experience with
CI/CD pipelines ,
containerized environments
(Docker, Kubernetes), and
automated build/test workflows .
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to guide both technical and non-technical audiences.
