Responsibilities
Design lead: manage and perform structural analysis and detailed design of concrete, steel, aluminum, and masonry structural systems. Complete, check, and coordinate structural calculations and contract documents. Review structural documents for completion and conflicts with other engineering disciplines. Coordinate the work of structural design teams through design development and construction phases of a project. Manage workload and budget as design lead or assistant project manager for structural projects. Perform and report results of structural condition assessments of existing facilities. Perform field inspections of construction projects and assist with preparation of addenda, RFI responses, and change orders. Evaluate geotechnical report findings to select and design appropriate foundation systems for treatment plant structures, pump stations, and heavy civil projects. Meet with clients, owners, operators, and governing agencies to determine structural requirements. Be involved in structural discipline portion of project proposals and interviews, following up in all cases with excellence in project delivery. Assist in the management of the structural work group, including staff development, profitability, morale, and quality control. Implement, monitor, and support company policy. Actively participate in work-sharing and structural practice development with a nation-wide network of HDR structural engineers. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering with Structural emphasis. Revit Structural experience beneficial. Preference given to candidates local to Missouri and Kansas. Familiarity with requirements of the International Building Code, ASCE-7, and industry-specific design standards. Experience with structural analysis software packages and Microsoft Office. Strong organizational and practice development skills. A commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering A minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience as it relates to building design Professional Engineer (PE) license Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software Experience in design calculations and layouts Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood Requires understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe
