Title:
Software Engineer API Developer
SAIC is seeking Software Engineer API Developers to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (DevOps) and Sustainment Support (ADOS) program and provide on-site technical and administrative support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and modernize MARS. This position will be located in the National Capital Region.
Note:
This position is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected by Winter/Spring 2026.
Responsibilities
Manage the ongoing enhancement and optimization of MARS data services and the MARS API framework and architecture.
Design, implement, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure APIs that meet evolving requirements of MARS data owners and enhance overall system functionality.
Provide system enhancement support for MARS FMI data and intelligence targeting, focusing on Object-Based Intelligence (OBI).
Develop and document innovative, repeatable, and automated services aligned with the MARS program.
Develop and execute a development release plan.
Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure each enhancement progresses toward identified user requirements and contributes to the strategic vision of the MARS program.
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
One of the following certifications: CISSP-ISSAP, CSSLP, or GSEC.
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering and five years or more relevant experience (additional 4+ years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree).
Experience developing and managing APIs, ensuring API security, and optimizing API performance.
Proficiency in using RESTful and SOAP APIs, integrating third-party services, and developing API documentation.
Strong understanding of API gateway technologies and data exchange protocols.
Target salary range:
$80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
