Cybersecurity Engineer
Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Global Information and Content Security (GICS) teams. The role supports the Security Engineering, Security Architecture, Threat Detection and Response, and related functions by deploying, managing, and maintaining shared, reliable, and extensible security platforms.
Your New Role
The Cybersecurity Engineer plays a key role in ensuring that security best practices are followed and that tools and processes that support a secure platform are maintained and kept current. Ideal candidates will have a mixture of security and systems engineering backgrounds to ensure that business processes are configured correctly and that security best practices are designed and implemented.
Your Role Accountabilities
Plan, design, engineer, and implement security‑related technologies.
Understand technical security issues and their implications within WBD business units and communicate them effectively to management and other business leaders.
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure—including software and hardware in cloud environments as well as on‑premises.
Conduct security audits and assessments to determine the effectiveness of security platforms and identify areas for improvement.
Perform operating system hardening, auditing, monitoring, and logging with appropriate security controls and best practices while meeting business goals.
Research and explore emerging security technologies and determine their appropriate use within the company.
Prepare, document, and create standard operating procedures and protocols. Cross‑train and mentor other team members as needed.
Qualifications & Experiences
Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience building, designing, and maintaining enterprise security tools.
Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience in security engineering.
5+ years of successfully implementing advanced cyber security technology in a complex environment.
Experience administering security platforms including SIEM/SOAR systems (Splunk, Cribl, XSOAR), endpoint detection and response (Sentinel One), vulnerability management (Brinqa, Tenable), anomaly detection, cloud analysis, CASB/DLP (Purview) etc.
Hands‑on technical experience with networking and computing system architectures, specifically the security aspects thereof.
Experience managing the Brinqa vulnerability management platform and programming in Groovy.
5+ years of scripting experience (Python or equivalent languages).
Thorough understanding of information security principles, techniques, policy frameworks, and best practices.
Hands‑on experience with public cloud infrastructures such as AWS.
Not Required but Preferred Experience
Minimum 3+ years of experience with automation technologies (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
Security and cloud certifications are a plus (CISSP, Splunk Admin, AWS Solution Architect).
Technical experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks and how they affect architecture designs and reviews.

Compensation
Pay Range: $91,000 – $169,000 per year (Additional rewards may include bonuses, incentives, and awards). Warner Bros. Discovery also offers benefits such as health insurance, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, paid holidays, sick time, and vacation.
