The Yard Coordinator manages yard operations by directing drivers’ movement, checking drivers in and out, conducting the trailer door process, maintaining yard safety and cleanliness, and handling the delivery of recycling bags and ice‑gel packs to third‑party partners.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate with drivers to position vehicles correctly for loading and unloading, and communicate risks to leadership.
Direct vehicle and truck traffic within the yard, ensuring proper positioning for loading, unloading, and dispatch.
Manage the trailer door process, opening and closing doors to facilitate inventory management.
Monitor and control vehicle movement to maintain smooth yard flow.
Enforce safety procedures, uphold cleanliness, and keep the yard organized and hazard‑free.
Deliver bags and ice‑gel packs to the third‑party company, ensuring proper handling by drivers and CookUnity associates.
Liaise with drivers, internal teams, and site leadership to relay information, address potential risks, and resolve yard operation issues.
Work with dock clerks and operations to track bags (orders) delivered to drivers and ensure proper accounting and sign‑out.
Required Skills and Attributes
Strong communication skills (Spanish & English) to direct drivers and interact with internal teams.
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong understanding of yard safety procedures and logistics.
Organizational skills to maintain a clean and orderly yard.
Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
Enforcement of yard and dock safety procedures.
Management of vehicles in the yard and to docks in compliance with site physical restrictions.
Accurate record‑keeping of vehicle arrivals/departures and safety procedures.
Prioritization of commercially important deliveries within receive.
Liaison with safety, operations, and vendor operations.
Implementation of changes per yard and dock checks and audits.
Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach to work.
Problem‑solving and issue resolution skills.
Self‑motivation and ability to work under pressure.
Other Related Responsibilities
Must haves: 18 years of age or older, authorization to work in the United States.
Able to work in cold environments (35°F–41°F), stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lb.
Non‑slip work shoes required.
Bilingual: Spanish and English.
Previous experience in fulfillment or warehouse work.
Forklift certification.
Food handler certification.
Basic technological knowledge (email and apps).
Shift Availability SUN to WED 9:00 am – 1:30 pm.
Training will take place at 1327 East 15th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90021. Beginning December 4th, the new location will be 5469 Ferguson Dr, Commerce, CA 90022.
Compensation All final pay rates will be determined by candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Pay range: $20 – $20 USD.
