Job Summary The Manager, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) oversees daily operations of the ICU, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. Provides leadership in nursing practice, staff development, operational efficiency, and quality improvement. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and achievement of organizational goals in quality, safety, and financial performance.
Essential Functions
Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates nursing care delivery in the ICU.
Utilizes evidence-based practices and performance improvement methodologies.
Engages employees in risk mitigation and quality improvement opportunities.
Analyzes data to identify trends, develop actionable plans, and implement improvements.
Leads rollout of tactical action plans, individual goals, and accountability measures.
Monitors and evaluates operational and quality performance metrics.
Manages daily operations, including resource allocation, staffing, and scheduling.
Conducts patient case reviews, resolves concerns, and ensures safe, compassionate care.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Leadership Responsibilities
Supervision and Staff Management
Provides leadership, mentorship and professional development.
Schedules employees; consults with Director on staffing issues.
Conducts performance evaluations, sets goals, and gives feedback.
Strategic Planning and Financial Oversight
Develops and manages departmental budget.
Monitors expenditures.
Evaluates and implements new technologies.
Develops and implements policies and procedures.
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
Ensures compliance with regulatory bodies; oversees accreditation.
Participates in audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.
Follows quality control practices.
Collaboration and Communication
Works closely with leadership teams to coordinate service delivery.
Stays up-to-date with industry advancements.
Staff Responsibilities
May work in a staff role when required; ensures duties and responsibilities are fulfilled.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required
Four (4) plus years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree required
Master's Degree preferred
2-4 years of experience in closely related field with Bachelor's degree required
2-4 years of previous leadership experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and manage cross-functional relationships.
Foster a positive work environment promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
Effective communication with leadership, team members, and stakeholders.

Proficiency with Google, Microsoft platforms, healthcare software systems, and data analysis tools.
Licenses and Certifications
RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
BCLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) required
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by AHA, ARC or ASHI required
