Overview CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a full‑time
Senior Software Test Engineer
with experience supporting projects for the Department of Defense (DoD). The software test engineer must have a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of software test engineering principles, methods, and techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting requirements, developing testing strategies, and implementing them in industry‑standard testing frameworks. Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran‑Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCCS‑MC, CAC2S, TBMCS‑MC, and the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading‑edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.
Responsibilities
Review, document and understand system specifications and test cards provided by the customer
Document requirements for tools and systems using a Requirements Traceability Matrix
Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents for completion and testability
Create test specifications based on the analysis of requirements, design, architecture, interface specifications
Develop software verification and test plans
Perform regression testing appropriate to application and system changes
Identify, investigate, report, and track defects
Develop milestone rollup documentation packages including test plans, results, release notes, and known issues
Be able to identify anomalies, evaluate impact, record and communicate them to stakeholders
Create process documentation detailing day‑to‑day activities of the team and general test principles
Lead a team of manual and automation test engineers consisting of roughly 5‑7 FTEs
Qualifications Required Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information technology
Eight (8) years of professional experience, with two (2) years of C2 or ABM specific experience
Professional Information Technology experience working in the QA/Development Field
Hands on experience in engineering and/or testing
End to end testing of applications
Working knowledge of testing methodologies
Familiarity with Agile frameworks
Expertise in documenting and testing requirements using industry standard techniques
Expertise in software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
Expertise in test design and engineering (in any programming language)
Expertise in test‑plan documentation and execution
Knowledge of web technologies and complex systems
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication, planning and organization/control skills; strong analytic and problem‑solving skills
Security Requirements
Secret Clearance, or ability to obtain one
