Responsibilities
Provide full scope of clinical patient care and services within the field of training including diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventative care, and health maintenance.
Collaborate with pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members.
Review incoming reports (e.g., lab, X‑ray, EKG) and follow up in a timely manner.
Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
Refer patients to specialists and relevant patient‑care components.
Manage daily operations of specific medical programs or patient‑care units, as required.
Direct and coordinate patient‑care activities of nursing and support staff.
Follow established departmental policies, procedures, safety, environmental, and infection‑control standards.
Participate in health‑promotion, education, and prevention programs as appropriate.
Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical and operational meetings as requested.
Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice.
Minimum Requirements
Licensed to practice medicine in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes, plus a minimum of four years of appropriate experience.
Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Specialty license or certification; board certified or board eligible in a specified area of medical specialty.
Certification/licensure in the state of Florida and federal DEA certification.
Compensation Expected Salary: Commensurate with experience and education.
