Family Medicine physician to serve as Program Director for the Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency Program. Ranked by US News and World Report, AdventHealth Orlando has consecutively been awarded "Best Hospital" for the past fourteen years in Central Florida.

This well-established residency program is based at AdventHealth East Orlando, a 295-bed facility that is part of one of the largest healthcare systems in the country. The Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency at East Orlando is among the most progressive training programs in the osteopathic profession. The foundation for our family medicine residency is derived from the dedication of our faculty, continuity family medicine and pediatric clinics, didactic programs and innovative technology. We teach eight new residents each academic year, along with two new residents each year in the ONMM3 residency. Our main medical school affiliation is with Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Responsibilities The physician’s duties will include:

Clinical teaching in an outpatient setting (50% of time); responsibilities include patient care, teaching, and faculty development.

Optional inpatient teaching on the ONMM consult service for qualified candidates.

Development of a private patient base with dedicated weekly clinic time.

Administrative duties, including program oversight, curriculum development, and resident evaluation (50% of time).

Active engagement in academic activities such as research, poster presentations, and conference presentations.

Qualifications

Board certified in Family Medicine.

Minimum 3 + years of experience in residency education, with preference for experience leading an osteopathic program.

Dynamic communication skills and alignment with AdventHealth’s mission and vision.

Practice Description This opportunity includes call coverage, competitive compensation, and occurrence‑based malpractice coverage. Additional benefits include paid leave days, CME days and allowance, 403(b) retirement, and health insurance.

Hospital Description AdventHealth East Orlando is a 295‑bed full‑service community hospital. We serve approximately 180,000 patients annually, including more than 16,500 inpatients and 79,330 outpatients. In 2018 the emergency department had over 130,000 visits. The hospital serves east Orange County, including Waterford Lakes, Avalon Park, Lake Nona, and the University of Central Florida area.

AdventHealth East Orlando hosts about 275 physicians and features four new inpatient surgical suites as well as a 13,500‑square‑foot outpatient surgery center. Specialized services include Cardiovascular Institute, Cancer Institute, Orthopedic Institute, Respiratory Care, Center for Family Care, Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, Men’s and Women’s Health Programs, Women’s Health Pavilion, Hospice Care, Seizure Monitoring, Telemedicine Program, Digestive Health Services, Primary Stroke Center, and Sleep Disorders Center.
