KPMG US invites applications for the Senior Director, KPMG Board Leadership Center (BLC) within the Clients and Markets organization. This role focuses on board governance and provides strategic leadership across our firm.
Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert representing KPMG on board governance and related issues.
Provide governance expertise and education to support KPMG clients at the board/c‑suite level.
Help drive development and execution of BLC's premier programs and sponsored/third‑party board‑level programs.
Develop and author articles and papers on timely governance issues and related boardroom practices, including oversight of strategy and risk, tech innovation, digital disruption, and data governance.
Interact with KPMG partners and leadership across the firm to develop client and target relationships and provide timely, relevant insights to board members, membership groups, and top executives.
Support the calibration of BLC's operational effectiveness and efficiency and help define/refine BLC's strategy as part of the BLC leadership team.
Contribute to a learning environment within BLC by sharing insights and mentoring team members.
Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment.
Qualifications
Minimum fifteen years of recent experience in the corporate governance arena; knowledge of audit and financial reporting is a plus.
J.D., MBA, Ph.D. or other advanced degree preferred; a bachelor's degree required.
Knowledge of helping boards understand the impact of tech/digital disruption and implications for strategy, risk, and board oversight; experience in the technology sector is a strong plus.
Excellent reputation and connectivity in the board ecosystem; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate verbally and in writing at a very high level.
Capability to present, lead, and facilitate board‑level discussions on critical boardroom topics and serve as a “resource of the firm” to build relationships with board/executive level clients and KPMG partners.
Strong collaborative mindset; ability to work closely with BLC members in a high‑performance environment and a proven record of executing collaboratively with quality, on‑time, and on‑budget outcomes.
Future‑focused strategic and innovative thinker with a strong commitment to lifelong learning and audience‑focused communication.
Significant domestic travel expected.
