Introducing a senior software engineer role focused on data governance within Wellington Management. The Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) team oversees enterprise data architecture, governance, and market data services, ensuring data drives investment and service excellence across the firm.

About The Role The EDG team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build and support data governance applications. The ideal candidate will deliver next‑gen platform solutions, support existing applications, and engage with a fast‑paced environment, embodying a DevOps mindset and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with system analysts and business team members to review and decompose business requirements, functional specifications, use‑cases, and test plans.
Create end‑to‑end designs and produce code aligned with business outcomes.
Maintain data modelling, code quality, static analysis, unit testing, design and code reviews, CI/CD, release management, and performance tuning.
Oversee and contribute to agile builds, deployments, and post‑deployment technical support.
Participate in technical direction with onshore and offshore teams regarding sprint planning, release planning, and work prioritisation.
Engage throughout the application lifecycle, including DevOps activities.
Learn quickly and manage SaaS‑based data governance applications such as Collibra Data Intelligence Platform.
Publish artifacts—including architecture, technical design, and support documentation.
Demonstrate adaptability, self‑motivation, and willingness to own projects in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field plus 7+ years of experience in complex software development.
Strong command of UI/UX development using JavaScript/TypeScript, ReactJS, Redux, backend services with NodeJS and Python, AWS deployment, database technologies, and CI/CD with Jenkins.
High‑level understanding of current technology landscape—UI, cloud, databases, big data, caching, and security.
Experience with SQL and relational databases.
Experience in AWS EKS (Kubernetes), Spark, Snowflake, and/or Databricks.
Expertise in AWS services: S3, EC2, DynamoDB, ECS, Elasticsearch, CloudFormation.
Demonstrated modern software development and test methodologies, including Git and Jenkins CI.
Experience with Data Governance tools, preferably Collibra Data Intelligence Platform.
Exposure to Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Semantic Layer implementation.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively or independently in a fast‑paced business‑critical environment.
Financial industry experience is preferred.

Compensation Base salary range: USD 80,000 – 150,000. Salary depends on skill set, role, experience, certifications, and education. Additional rewards may include discretionary bonus and incentives. Full compensation details will be shared during recruitment.
