The UCSF Hematology‑Oncology Division at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital is seeking part‑time highly motivated and skilled Nurse Practitioners to join our team in providing exceptional patient‑centered care to individuals with cancer and hematological disorders. Under the supervision of the medical director and collaborating physicians, the Nurse Practitioner will provide care in our ambulatory outpatient clinics to patients undergoing treatment for various malignancies—including lung, head and neck, prostate, and breast cancer—as well as hematological disorders. The Nurse Practitioner will actively contribute to symptom management, treatment toxicity management, care coordination, triage support, and other clinical duties as assigned.

This role is ideal for clinicians who are deeply committed to caring for patients in a mission‑driven, safety‑net setting and who want flexibility that supports professional balance and personal sustainability.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $100.48 - $130.31 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description The Division of Hematology/Oncology is one of the largest divisions in the Department of Medicine (DOM). Currently, the Division has 80+ full‑time faculty, 18 part‑time and/or volunteer faculty, 26 ACGME and non‑ACGME fellows, 13 post‑doctoral fellows, 32 non‑faculty appointments and 57 administrative and research staff. The Division’s primary research, clinical and teaching functions are primarily split between the Parnassus, Mission Bay and Mount Zion campuses, although faculty, fellows, and staff have appointments and clinical, research and educational activities at San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) and Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC).

Required Qualifications

At least one (1) year of recent experience as a medical oncology NP and/or successful completion of a one‑year comprehensive oncology APP fellowship program.

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) or more years oncology experience

Bilingual in English and Spanish or Cantonese

Prior experience in a safety‑net, public or resource‑limited health system

Familiar with EPIC

License / Certification

California Registered Nurse (RN) license without restriction.

California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction.

California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number including Schedule II furnishing privileges.

NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role Adult Outpatient (A‑GNP‑C, ANP‑C, FNP‑C, GNP‑C, AGPCNP‑BC, ANP‑BC, FNP‑BC, GNP‑BC, ACNP‑BC, AGACNP‑BC, ACNPC‑AG, ACNPC).

California Driver License (if required for position).

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address.

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional required AHA certifications: None additional to BLS.

Additional required certifications (such as ENLS): None.

UCSF Medical Center and Campus require certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60‑90 days but can vary.
