Job Description Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a
General Manager
for the beautiful Barton Creek Resort & Spa. Ranked among the best resorts in Texas – Top 5 in the Southwest (Condé Nast Traveler) and Top 5 in Texas (Travel + Leisure) – we seek a leader who will provide training, supervision and superior guest service, while ensuring financial controls and overall success of the restaurant.
Responsibilities
Ensure maximum guest satisfaction while dining in the restaurant.
Conduct daily pre‑meal meetings with service staff.
Supervise the floor during operation and maintain smooth operations.
Enforce service protocols and monitor timing of guest experience.
Handle complaints to guest satisfaction.
Plan weekly front‑of‑house staff schedules and oversee kitchen, stewarding and cashier staff.
Ensure side stations are fully stocked, equipment functions properly, and seating rotations.
Coordinate dining room functions, monitor productivity, and critique food quality and consistency.
Maintain food displays, cleanliness, and atmospheric elements.
Upsell, expedite table turnover, implement promotions, and maintain equity in service.
Enforce company policies, emergency procedures, and liquor liability laws.
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
Current Texas Food Handlers and TABC certifications.
3 years experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Manager, preferably in a high‑volume 4‑star setting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and multitask.
Prior cash handling experience.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Collaboration with culinary team on presentations, specials, and promotions.
Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
Understanding of menu design or culinary training.
Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
Lift, carry, push, pull moderate‑weight objects without assistance.
Working Environment
Hotel dining room and kitchen interior, occasional travel around resort.
Exposure to hazardous chemicals and food items.
Tools & Equipment
Kronos, OnTrack, BirchStreet, Microsoft Office, Synergy, ResDiary, OpenTable.
MICROS computer, card reader, desktop computer & printer, telephone.
