The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Coordinator for Federal and State Aid within the Office of Title 1.
Definition:
Under direction, compiles, correlates, and reviews information regarding federal, state, and private foundation funds that are available to obtain the maximum aid available consistent with needs of the jurisdiction; does other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements Note:
Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.
Seven (7) years of professional supervisory and/or administrative experience in varied phases of business, industrial, or government service which shall have involved the organization, direction, planning, coordination, or control of significant programs or activities.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience. NOTE: "Professional experience" refers to work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the profession's principles, concepts, theories, and practices; and is performed with the authority to act according to one's own judgment and make accurate and informed decisions.
License:
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Basic Functions and Responsibilities
Identifies programs available for existing and proposed projects.
Outlines major provisions and requirements of programs.
Provides points of contact with state, regional, and federal officials and establishes active liaison with department of division heads as well as with officials of other government agencies.
Makes studies, surveys, and reports recommending uses of federal, state, or private foundation aid.
Processes applications for aid on behalf of the governing body or assists local jurisdictions in processing applications for aid.
Expedites and follows up on funding of projects approved and in progress.
Establishes and maintains records and files.
Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
Perform other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of principles and methods of organization, planning, management control, and supervision.
Knowledge of functions and interrelationships of federal, state, and local governments.
Knowledge of methods and procedures involved in obtaining federal, state, and private foundation aid.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with public officials.
Ability to evaluate programs and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate activities of diversified units.
Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating situations and in making determinations.
Ability to organize assigned work and develop effective work methods.
Ability to prepare clear, concise, accurate, and informative reports.
Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
