-Time Custodian / Janitor / Housekeeper Location: Dave & Mary Alper JCC Miami Schedule: Part-time (afternoon/evening hours) The Dave & Mary Alper Jewish Community Center (Alper JCC) in Miami is seeking a reliable, detail‑oriented Custodian/Janitor/Housekeepe r to join our Facilities team. This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Perform daily and deep cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, offices, fitness areas, and community spaces. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect all assigned areas. Restock restrooms and supply closets as needed. Empty trash and transport waste to designated areas. Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces. Pressure clean outdoor walkways, walls, and other surfaces as assigned. Assist with special cleaning projects, event setups, and breakdowns. Follow all safety procedures and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Work efficiently, independently, and maintain high attention to detail. Collaborate with the maintenance and custodial team to ensure all areas meet JCC cleanliness standards. Qualifications Prior custodial, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred. Experience with pressure cleaning equipment a plus. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to take direction. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong work ethic and pride in maintaining a clean environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift. Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Operate cleaning and pressure washing equipment safely and effectively. Tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals and occasional outdoor work. Repetitive motion and frequent movement throughout large facilities.
