Location: Manufacturing Technology Center Reports To: Dir, Precision Machining Tech Recruitment Type: External/Internal Requisition ID: req6521 Employment Type: Part-Time Faculty Union Position: Non-Union Work Schedule: Scheduled as needed Job Description Summary Plansand delivers curriculum within the Precision Manufacturing Technology programbased on established standards. Teaches a full range of noncredit lecture and lab courses in the Precision Machining Technology programs. Courses include, but are not limited to: Blueprint Reading, Spatial Visualization, Applied(Machining) Math, Manual Machining, CNC Machining, Machine Tool Theory, CAD/CAM, and Quality Control. Performs student learning outcome assessment tomake continuous improvements in learning outcomes. Actively engages in thepromotion of workplace health and safety-related areas. Collaborates with other instructors and staff to provide appropriate learning opportunities for students. Monitors students while they practice within the machining lab. Essential Functions Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes Provides a learning environment appropriate for enhancing academic progress Provides instructional methodologies consistent with student needs within the program guidelines Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts Provides well defined goals for student achievement Evaluates and grades student’s class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations Maintains up-to-date academic and attendance records in compliance with school and regulatory organization policies and guidelines Fosters effective communication between students, staff, and administration Periodically meets with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training development Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Education and Experience / Training Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering or manufacturing/industrial engineering technology Significant related experience may substitute for education Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a machinist or other related role within industry Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Possess strong organizational and time-management skills Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Ability to travel between campuses Demonstrated proficiency in current industry technology Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent) Ability to work accurately with great attention to detail Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of the community Competencies Critical Competencies Service Focus Quality of Work Very Important Competencies Communication Preferred Qualifications Experience, Education / Training Community college or technical school teaching experience Industry recognized technical certifications such as NIMS, NC3, Solidworks, MasterCam Fluency in CAD/CAM software Physical Demands / Working Conditions The work is performed in a standard, professional shop environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Typically, there is some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items up to 25 pounds Work is partially performed in an environment with sufficient noise that may cause an employee to shout to be heard above the noise level. Work is partially performed in an environment exposing employees to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals. Work is partially performed in an environment with conditions that affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, and gases. Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite Special Note This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $47.35/ hour. If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
