Job Summary
This position reports the Chief Human Resources Officer. The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with AMSC's campus internal teams and stakeholders to understand their HR related needs. Responsibilities include HRIS operations, recruiting, onboarding, off‑boarding, performance management, and more. The ideal candidate will cultivate professional relationships that promote student success.
Responsibilities
- Talent acquisition and management—oversee onboarding and off‑boarding for faculty, staff, and student employees.
- Support recruiting efforts through campus training and selection/search partnering.
- Maintain the institution's HRIS and other products used to support Employee Services.
- Support implementation, training, and maintenance of HRIS systems.
- Serve as AMSC liaison for benefits and incentives within the Board of Regents Well‑Being department.
- Collaborate with campus partners, faculty, staff, and students.
- Coordinate special HR projects as assigned.
- Provide guidance to employees on HR‑related matters.
- Understand and appropriately apply policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
Experience
- Two (2) years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- Or Associate’s degree with four (4) years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education.
- HR certification(s).
- Four (4) or more years of HR experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency with technology tools, Microsoft Office, Access, Excel.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills; ability to identify solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and experience presenting/delivering training sessions.
