A Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) is a healthcare professional specialized in providing comprehensive medical care to individuals of all ages within a family unit. They serve as the primary point of contact for patients, managing a wide range of medical conditions, promoting preventive care, and addressing the diverse health needs of patients across the lifespan. Essential Job Functions
Patient Care - Conduct thorough medical examinations and assessments of patients. Diagnose and treat various acute and chronic illnesses. Provide routine check-ups and preventive care services. Health Promotion and Education - Educate patients on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and disease prevention. Discuss age-appropriate screenings and immunizations with patients. Chronic Disease Management - Manage and monitor patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. Coordinate care with specialists when needed. Family-Centered Care - Foster open communication to address family health concerns. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Record Keeping - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients. Collaboration with Specialists - Consult with and refer patients to specialists as needed. Coordinate care plans with other healthcare providers. Emergency Care - Respond to medical emergencies and provide initial stabilization. Community Engagement - Engage in community health initiatives and educational programs. Required Education
Medical Doctor degree or DO Degree from an accredited institution. Required Experience
3 years residency training in Family Medicine. Required Licenses and Certifications
Current unrestricted State Medical License. Board certification in Family Medicine. Current State D.E.A. Certificate. Current BLS and ACLS certification. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to continuing medical education and staying informed about advancements in family medicine. The work schedule may include evenings and weekends to accommodate patient needs. Preferred Qualifications
