Salary: $1,375 per credit.

Trinity Washington University is seeking a dynamic CNA instructor to teach up to two of the following sections in the Advanced Technical Center (ATC) Dual Enrollment High School Program within the College of Arts and Sciences. The ATC is a partnership with the Office of the State Superintendent of Education to provide DC high school students with the opportunity to complete dual enrollment pathways in health sciences. Under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer in the School of Nursing and Health Professions, successful applicants will have the ability to teach didactic and/or clinical courses in our CNA program.

The Spring Semester ATC classes start on January 20, 2026, ending May 8, 2026. The adjunct instructor will teach these courses at the ATC’s Penn Center, 1709 3rd St NE.

Course 1

NURS 101/ATC 1, Certified Nursing Aide Lecture (3 credits): MTWTHF 8:25 – 9:45 AM

Course 2

NURS 101/ATC 2, Certified Nursing Aide Lecture/Lab (3 credits): MTWTHF 10:35 – 11:55 AM

Qualifications

Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license for the District of Columbia.

Associate degree in nursing required; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Teaching experience in CNA programs preferred.

Minimum of two to three years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.

Current knowledge of nursing practice at the nursing assistant level.

Job Responsibilities

Teach assigned courses/clinicals.

Provide classroom and course management in a manner consistent with professional conduct.

Keep regular office hours in accordance with Trinity policy.

Assist students outside of scheduled class times.

Utilize appropriate teaching methods and techniques to meet course outcomes.

Develop and maintain course outlines and calendars, making them available to students one week prior to class.

Maintain accurate class rosters (attendance reports) and submit them according to ATC requirements; update gradebooks weekly.

Attend adjunct meetings and workshops as scheduled.

Participate in adjunct evaluation process.

Notify the Dean of any absences or schedule changes in advance and in writing.

Review and recommend textbooks, reference materials, software, audio‑visual aids, and learning resources.

Stay current in professional knowledge through reading and attending workshops and conferences.

Have knowledge of working with students with disabilities and coordinating services.
