The successful candidate will be a board-certified physician with a current state license, and an MBA or MHA is preferred. The Chief Medical Officer will be responsible for providing administrative oversight and leadership for all functions of the Medical Staff Office, Case Management, and Utilization Review. This role involves serving as the primary medical staff liaison for administration, ensuring that medical staff members adhere to by-laws, code of conduct, and policies, and working with the executive team to meet clinical and financial goals. The Chief Medical Officer will also be involved in quality improvement, peer review, and resource management to support the highest level of care and regulatory compliance. Candidates for the Chief Medical Officer position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years of clinical/hospital practice and at least 3 years of progressive physician executive leadership. Experience with regulatory bodies such as CMS, ACHC, and the Joint Commission is essential, as is a proven track record in formulating and implementing clinical practice guidelines and performance improvement activities. The role requires a solid understanding of the business and financial aspects of healthcare, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to lead care integration and transformation strategies.
