About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for its Medicaid Health Plan. The CMO will be a key strategic and operational partner, working closely with the executive team to drive clinical excellence, achieve measurable health outcomes, and support quality and medical management. This role is pivotal in a highly matrixed environment, with a focus on cost containment, and the overall growth and success of the plan. The CMO will be responsible for ensuring that members receive the right healthcare treatment, developing and promoting population health strategies, and serving as a clinical leader for various stakeholders. Collaboration is essential, both internally and externally, to meet the needs of members and providers and to support the continuous improvement of the quality of care. Candidates for the CMO position must have at least 5 years' of experience in the healthcare delivery system, with a minimum of 3 years' in Medicaid and managed care. A current, unencumbered medical license in the state of Missouri, as well as board certification in a recognized specialty, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in population health management, a passion for driving better healthcare outcomes, and an understanding of value-based contracting. The CMO will be expected to be a resident of Missouri and to have a proven track record of influencing and leading in the healthcare industry. Education requirements include an MD or DO with board certification in an ABMS or AOA recognized specialty.
