Accounting Specialist - Open Call - Zuma Vail Description The Accounting Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing the fundamental aspects of the restaurant's financial recordkeeping. Your responsibilities will include recording financial transactions, managing accounts payables and receivables, reconciling bank statements, and providing leadership for the organization's financial functions. At Zuma, we're more than a restaurant – we're a vibrant community fuelled by the energy that flows from our Robata grills, guided by our core values: Honor the Mastery - we celebrate every detail, always striving for perfection – putting pride in everything we do Do Unto Others - we support each other to be at our best, treating every team member and guest with warmth and openness Embrace the Energy - we bring passion and positivity to everything we do Main Duties Your key responsibilities will include: Prepare daily and weekly financial reports accurately and in a timely manner Manage accounts payables and receivables, ensuring timely payments and collections Identify and rectify any discrepancies or errors on POS reports promptly Review and reconcile petty cash, voids, and promotional reports meticulously Handle bank deposits and meticulously reconcile credit card statements Raise purchase orders for operational expenditures within allocated budgets and place orders online once purchase orders are approved by department head Effectively manage gift card issuance and ensure accurate reconciliation Attend HOD meetings and deliver comprehensive presentations on weekly operational financials Effectively handle chargebacks with credit card companies in accordance with company policies Coordinate seamlessly with outsourced accounting firms to ensure timely and accurate reporting Provide expert accounting support to other Zuma locations as required , maintaining consistency and accuracy Offer informed insights and advice to management on financial trends, budget variances, and pertinent issues Collaborate effectively in audit activities, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting Uphold the highest standards of accuracy and compliance in financial statements, adhering to GAAP and internal policies Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested What We Look For Our ideal candidate embodies our values and the following: 1-3 years of experience in accounting in restaurant industry Bachelor’s degree in accounting required Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Excel Knowledge of GAAP and federal and state financial regulations Proficiency in accounting software and performing cash reconciliation, bank deposits, and check handling Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a plus but not required We offer incredible career growth, international opportunities, and the chance to contribute to a world-renowned brand, where every detail from the finest ingredients to our unrivalled atmosphere is crafted to perfection.
