Responsibilities

Analyze and price reinsurance submissions independently, providing recommendations

Collaborate with underwriters to explain key assumptions and conclusions

Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders and management

Present pricing results to the company President and participate in referral processes

Develop and enhance actuarial pricing tools and parameters

Mentor and train junior staff

Support reserving, financial reporting, and risk management functions as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or math preferred

FCAS or ACAS designation preferred; candidates pursuing these are considered

At least 10 years of property casualty actuarial experience; reinsurance treaty pricing experience preferred

Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Excellent work ethic, project management, and multi-tasking skills; ability to work overtime during busy seasons

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with technical tools like RMS, AIR, ReMetrica, MetaRisk is a plus

Programming skills in VBA, R, Python, SQL are advantageous

Ability to work on-site in Stamford, CT, 4 days a week
