Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Director for Residence Life & Housing, the Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) applies student development theory to support the retention, engagement, and well-being of residential students. The RLC is responsible for multiple residential communities within the Residence Life program and manages all aspects of the area, including overall health and safety, student well-being, supervision of the resident assistant staff, oversight of programming and engagement efforts, conduct, and management of facilities concerns and planning. The ideal candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, knowledgeable about student development theory, demonstrate an understanding of learning outcomes, and be passionate about infusing JEDI work into the residential setting. This is a live-in position that serves as a member of the on-call team.

Responsibilities :
Essential University Functions: Communicate the philosophy and practice of all aspects of Residence Life to campus community members to ensure questions and concerns are addressed quickly and consistently. Demonstrate the Arcadia University Lived Values and the Knight Code of Honor in all encounters with students, potential students, parents, families, and colleagues.
Essential Department Functions: Ensure all aspects of the residential area support Campus Life division goals and department student learning outcomes. Provide an environment conducive to the academic success of a diverse residential population and promote University Lived Values, the Knight Code of Honor, and CABR (combating anti-black racism) and JEDI principles among residents and student staff. Address instances when community standards and expectations are unmet to support student learning and positive decision-making. Oversight of conflict management within their assigned areas, utilizing mediation techniques to support roommate and community issues. Supervise undergraduate and graduate resident assistant staff, including the selection, training, and evaluation of new and returning resident assistants to promote professional learning and leadership development. Coordinate engagement efforts within and among the residential communities through independent planning and management of the Resident Assistant programming model. Support department housing operations such as Housing Selection, new and returning student move-in, health and safety inspections, fire safety drills, closing of residence halls, and summer preparation to ensure a student-centered approach while prioritizing health and safety. Assist with the development and assessment of student learning outcomes, program goals, and objectives to support student success. Serve as an administrative hearing officer for low to mid-level violations of University policy. Serve as a member of the on-call team to support student health, and safety and manage suspected violations of University policy when appropriate. Assist with updating department manuals, websites, social media platforms, and other relevant departmental materials. Provide support to other Campus Life functions, such as Welcome Week, Enrollment Management events, campus traditions, and University-wide initiatives as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in psychology, sociology, education, social work, or a related field required; Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and in a team setting; Demonstrated ability to multi-task; Prior experience with on-call emergency response practices in a university setting; Experience and/or background in crisis management and student development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in higher education, college student personnel, or related field; 1- 2 years of experience in a residence life or housing department; Familiarity with information systems, such as MCR Housing and Maxient; A student-centered and JEDI-informed approach to student affairs work.
