JMark
is seeking a highly skilled and strategically minded
C-WMD Staff Officer II
to support the
Counter Proliferation and Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate
within the
Sensitive Activities & Special Programs (SASP) Office , part of the
Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)) .
In this role, you won’t just analyze threats—you’ll shape the policy and strategy that helps prevent them. From combating the spread of chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons to advising top DoD and National Security leaders, your work will directly influence how the U.S. anticipates, prepares for, and neutralizes WMD-related risks. This is your opportunity to operate at the nexus of intelligence, innovation, and international stability—where your insight drives national defense decisions with lasting impact.

The Pentagon – Arlington, VA
A high-visibility role in the center of national intelligence, policy, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities And Success Factors
✦ Briefing and Reporting
Develop and deliver detailed briefings and high-impact staff packages to OUSD(I&S) leadership on WMD threats and delivery systems. Evaluate emerging and commercial technologies for integration into defense operations and provide compatibility studies that shape innovation strategies and minimize redundancy.
✦ Policy and Framework Development
Design and refine operational frameworks in collaboration with stakeholders across the DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), and interagency landscape. Provide authoritative guidance on the application of Title 10, Title 50, and other legal authorities, shaping policy that supports mission execution and legal compliance.
✦ Representation and Interagency Coordination
Represent the C-WMD mission at interagency working groups, technical forums, and strategic-level discussions. Prepare after-action reports, meeting minutes, and mission briefings that reflect deep understanding of operational priorities and policy relevance.
✦ Strategic Planning and Leadership Support
Prepare and manage OSD-level staffing packages for senior leadership approval, including inputs for the Secretary of Defense and the National Security Council. Offer strategic courses of action based on in-depth analysis, stakeholder feedback, and threat landscape assessments.
Education And Minimum Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance required Bachelor’s Degree required Minimum 3 years of experience producing high-level reports and briefings for the DoD or Intelligence Community Minimum 3 years of experience supporting counterproliferation efforts targeting WMDs, delivery systems, or enabling technologies
Skills And Competencies
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with experience evaluating complex defense and intelligence frameworks Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to create concise, strategic-level products for senior audiences Proven collaboration and coordination skills within multi-agency, high-security environments Ability to prioritize tasks, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to evolving mission needs
