Temporary Administrative Assistant
to support their Edgemere, Far Rockaway office. The company plays a critical role in managing community-based properties and providing essential services to residents. This Temporary Administrative Assistant role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a mission-driven setting and is comfortable commuting to Queens daily.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$20/hr
Position Overview:
The Temporary Administrative Assistant will be responsible for managing schedules, handling administrative requests, and ensuring that the day-to-day needs of the office are met efficiently. The ideal Temporary Administrative Assistant is organized, tech-savvy, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This is a year-long assignment with the potential to expand based on performance and operational needs.
Responsibilities of the Temporary Administrative Assistant:
Provide customer service to tenants, clients, and internal staff with professionalism and empathy. Manage calendars, book appointments, and maintain scheduling for internal personnel. Perform data entry and maintain tracking documents using Microsoft Excel. Organize and update filing systems, both digital and physical. Support the team with general administrative duties and special projects as needed.
Required Experience/Skills of the Temporary Administrative Assistant:
Previous experience in an administrative assistant or office support role preferred. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general computer proficiency. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities in a busy office setting.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Temporary Administrative Assistant:
Familiarity with housing, property management, or nonprofit administrative work. Experience serving diverse communities in a professional setting. Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
