Our Software Engineers work in an agile environment to define, design, develop, test, certify, and improve advanced software products, ranging from mission payloads and electronic systems to orbital and space exploration systems. Responsibilities include coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, and designing software throughout the product lifecycle. We seek a Senior Software Systems Engineer with a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related field, supporting the Air Vehicle team for the SAOC program. You will define avionics system architecture, develop, and integrate avionics equipment onto the SAOC platform, and characterize data buses for engineering and sustainment purposes. Success Looks Like: Collaborating with Program Management and engineering teams on technical approaches Willingness to work in System Integration Lab and aircraft environments Strong communication with stakeholders Providing software insight for avionics system characterization Analyzing solutions against constraints and technology Developing tools to analyze aircraft data buses Using independent judgment on software architecture and techniques Collaborating to develop and integrate software that meets DO-178C standards Qualifications The Employee Must Have: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related, with 10+ years of experience Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance Experience with embedded software systems and safety-critical development Experience with avionics data buses or serial interfaces Experience working in multidisciplinary teams Qualifications We Prefer: Experience with avionics software architecture and integration Experience with legacy aircraft platforms Experience developing software to DO-178C DAL-B/C standards Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, CAN Bus Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Skills in analyzing and decoding avionics data buses Experience managing subcontractors on avionics development SNC is a leader in aerospace and defense, recognized for innovation and mission success. This position is open for at least 5 days, with potential extension based on needs. Estimated salary range: $143,487.14 - $197,294.82, with additional incentives and comprehensive benefits, including health plans, 401(k), paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.
