The salary range for this position: $32.96 - 37.36 (35-hour work week) Finalsalary is based on education, experience, skills relevant to therole, and internal equity.

The Career Pathways Advisor is a hybrid role that blends career advising, employer relations, and internship coordination to support student success and deepen employer partnerships. Reporting to the Associate Director of Career Advising, this role works directly with students and employers to ensure a seamless connection between student readiness and industry opportunity. With a focus on helping students identify, prepare for, and pursue diverse career pathways aligned with their goals and creative disciplines, this role provides individualized support in areas such as employment trends, resume development, interview preparation, and job search strategies. The Career Pathways Advisor contributes to the growth and innovation of the advising team and enhances the services offered across campus. In addition, this position manages for-credit internships and supports the College’s efforts around data-informed practices, programming, and outcomes reporting. The Advisor plays a critical role in ensuring ArtCenter students are not only career-ready but actively connected to evolving professional pathways and industry networks. Services are delivered in both one-on-one and group settings using dynamic, engaging, and interactive formats. This is a full-time position. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position is eligible for flexible scheduling and can be performed hybrid with the expectation of at least 3 days in the office or required as a condition of employment. The demands of this work may include weekends or evenings. The college reserves the right to modify schedules as needed to meet the business needs with appropriate notice. Essential Functions Career Advising & Student Support — 50% Provide individualized and group-based career advising to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent alumni, on topics such as resumes, cover letters, portfolios, job and internship search strategies, and interview preparation. Develop and facilitate workshops on professional development topics that reflect both student needs and emerging trends in creative industries. Guide students in understanding how to strengthen their candidacy for specific fields by aligning their materials, experiences, and skillsets with industry standards. Participate in orientation activities, informing new students about Creative Career services. Cultivate a deep understanding of the professions and industries aligned with ArtCenter’s academic programs, including evolving career paths, required qualifications, and employer expectations. Establish and maintain strong relationships with department chairs, program leaders, and faculty to ensure career content is integrated into academic experiences where appropriate. Collaborate with the Director and Associate Directors to contribute to career outcomes data collection, reporting, and evaluation of student engagement and success metrics. Build inclusive, culturally responsive advising practices to support students from diverse backgrounds and identities. Work with the department of Environmental Health and Safety to maintain a safe and secure work and learning environment for students, faculty, and staff. Employer Engagement & Internship Program Management — 40% Support the Director of Creative Careers in cultivating and managing relationships with hiring partners. Identify hiring trends, internship opportunities, and emerging fields relevant to students' career pathways. Act as the point of contact for employer inquiries related to recruitment, events, and job postings. In collaboration with the Creative Careers team and Program Managers, assist with managing employer events, company info sessions, and on-campus recruitment visits. Maintain accurate records of employer contacts, student placements, and hiring trends. Assist in promoting student talent and success stories to industry audiences and the ArtCenter community. Support the annual mentorship program and related employer/student connection efforts. Oversee the Creative Careers LinkedIn page and engagement. Research and promote undergraduate internship/fieldwork opportunities applicable for a wide range of majors and academic programs. Oversee processes for credit-bearing internships, including approvals, evaluations, and faculty coordination. Ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation guidelines. Serve as a liaison between students, employers, and academic departments for internship logistics and issue resolution. Track internship outcomes and assist in reporting for institutional data needs. Assist in overseeing the Creative Careers database, ArtCenter Connect, by approving internship and employment requests. Update employer-facing web pages and materials to reflect current programs, partnerships, and opportunities. Non-Essential Duties — 10% Maintain memberships and active involvement in applicable professional organizations Represent the College and the Office of Creative Careers at professional organizations and meetings as needed Serve on educational or college-wide committees, work groups, task forces and/or councils Assist with social media marketing as needed Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, business, or related field from an accredited college or institution. Previous experience working with students in career services, employer relations, higher education, recruiting, or relevant fields. Strong knowledge of creative industry sectors and emerging career paths for artists and designers. Demonstrated skill in understanding student needs and connecting them with resources and/or opportunities Ability to design and implement programs/workshops Ability to develop and present information in a compelling way to individuals, large and small groups Strong computer skills including CRM/career services platforms (e.g., Handshake, Symplicity), email marketing tools, and social media platform knowledge. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative platforms like Teams Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, and public speaking skills Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines Comfortable with online video platforms for working remotely as required by the College Ability to work independently and as part of a team, employing an entrepreneurial and creative mindset Demonstrated experience in cultivating the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, access and belonging into work practices and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within ArtCenter’s diverse communities Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion and recognizes the confidential nature ofArtCenterbusiness Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in in education, counseling, business, or related field from an accredited college or institution.
