This role will be based at our technology development center in San Jose, California. At Watlow, team members find challenging opportunities producing high-quality products that will serve leading companies in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, sustainable energy production, medical equipment and food safety. As the Gas Delivery Applications Engineer, you will often serve as the single point of contact in technical discussion with our customers. A team member in this role is expected to foster lasting customer relationships, responding to new requests, providing timely onsite support. The role requires responsive, concise technical communication to determine customer requirements and translate them into product designs. Mechanical design experience is needed for solid model architecture of heating systems for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Technical communication with internal team members is required to then manage new opportunities through Watlow’s new product introduction process for prototype, design, manufacturing and logistics. The candidate is expected to operate as a project lead and provide technical leadership. Your Key Responsibilities

System architecture through solid model and electrical design

Bill of materials, product pricing management and quoting of new opportunities

Technical communication – Should have customer facing experience

Specification document generation and review

Field application assessment and troubleshooting

Lab testing for product performance and benchmarking

Remote and/or in‑person specification requirements review, including local travel to customer site

Air travel to Watlow sites for training and on‑site meetings as needed

Air travel to customer sites as needed to support new opportunities or troubleshooting needs

Drive to organize and document standard work, educate other team members on best known practices and procedures

Motivation to learn about new products and apply them to applications

Discipline to integrate processes with Watlow business system

Experience with lean product development / project management tools

Required Qualifications Four-year Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field. 5-7 years of job experience.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with Solid Modeling, SolidWorks is preferred.

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) / Business Management Systems (BMS)

Fluent in basic electrical theory.

The annual salary base pay for California is between $105,000-$140,000 annually. You are also eligible for employee benefits and annual performance bonuses. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
