BHCHP has been dedicated since 1985 to ensuring equitable and dignified access to high‑quality health care for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in greater Boston. More than 10,000 homeless individuals are cared for each year through comprehensive services at over 30 locations.

Job Summary ***NOW OFFERING A $4,000 SIGN ON BONUS***

Hours: Full‑Time; 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.

Responsibilities

Responsible for admissions coordinated during regular business hours Monday through Friday and admission coordinated to the Respite Programs (Barbara McInnis House).

Screen admission referrals during regular business hours, give report to the RN Manager at the end of the day; collaborate with BHCHP staff to facilitate screening and admission; inform clinical staff of planned admissions.

Greet patients, initiate a brief history, physical assessment, document the encounter; enter patient information into the computer; provide orientation to the Respite programs; transport patients to the appropriate floor and give report to the Team Nurse and Provider.

Problem‑solve with the Admissions RN manager regarding alternatives for patients who do not meet criteria for admission to the Respite programs.

Qualifications

Commonwealth of Massachusetts RN license; minimum of 3‑5 years of nursing experience preferred; previous hospital experience preferred.

CPR Certification required.

Proficient in Spanish language.

Demonstrated interest in working with an underserved population.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, solve complex problems, and deal with a variety of issues; effectively present information and respond to questions from staff and patients.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation ranges from $40.00 – $58.00 per hour and increases based on years of experience.
