Summary It is the responsibility of the Supervisor Freight Operations to supervise the freight operation and all dock labor at the show site at all facilities in which the company produces events. Plans for assigned shows include labor, equipment, job assignments of qualified labor, hours of operation, paperwork procedures, timekeeping, and job cost. The position supports the Event & Exhibit Services team and follows an in‑person schedule working full‑time in‑office and/or show‑site based out of Nashville, TN.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Manage events exceeding 300,000 lbs. of freight or more.

Complete pre‑show workbook to include target plan, labor and equipment planning, and freight production schedule.

Supervise dock labor at the show site by assigning qualified personnel to efficiently perform all duties in accordance with standard practices. Assist in the training of all dock labor.

Provide direction to all subordinates to ensure a safe work environment. Conduct safety and service meetings on a regular basis.

Interact with the Facility Manager for the assigned show to ensure all facility rules and regulations are adhered to.

Determine the needs and request equipment, tools and labor required to produce each show event. Ensure the location of all rigging and machinery, order and supervise all drivers and machine operators and related equipment such as forklifts, large capacity forklifts and occasionally cranes.

Communicate with decorating operations and the account executive on the scheduled move‑in and move‑out of each show.

Work closely with customers throughout the event to ensure quality standards are met. Analyze and explain invoices to customers and contact exhibitors regarding shortages, damages or re‑routes on outbound shipment.

Project labor and analyze labor using the labor budget tool. Produce accurate payroll forms, timecards or timekeeping system for all labor worked on shows.

Complete a post‑show recap after the show is completed.

Ensure job cost is kept to a minimum without sacrificing services to all customers.

Ensure all equipment is returned from show site to warehouse.

Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience

High School diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.

2+ years of tradeshow industry related experience preferred.

2+ years of supervisory experience in a related field preferred.

Familiarity with current material handling rates, show rules and regulations, association requirements and pertinent information for a show.

Should be familiar with Freight Procedures Manual, Freight Operations Page on the Resource, Pre‑show Planning Guides, Post‑show Recaps, TSS Freight Reports, Exhibitor Kit Forms, Floor Plans, Return to Warehouse Manifests, Incident Reports and Claim Forms.

Ability to perform basic computer function in Freeman programs. Experience and versed in programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Forklift certified preferred.

Ability to pass an MVR screen.
