As the Underwriting Governance & Controls Governance Quality Analyst in the Americas region you will embody these values. Your primary role will be to support the Head of Underwriting Governance & Controls by ensuring that underwriting in the region is provided with timely, accurate and complete management information, analysis and portfolio management for governance. You will be responsible for the oversight of the quality review process, including trending KPIs and remediation actions. You will also be responsible for helping to ensure that underwriting activities adhere to internal and external (including regulatory) control and governance standards. The role requires a proven ability to positively and effectively manage a complex blend of global and regional priorities, while driving consistency of approach and efficiencies.
Responsibilities
Work with Americas underwriting leaders to ensure effective governance and controls.
Implement a sound control environment by leveraging good practices, common processes and technology (collaborating with Global CUO’s, GIO, etc.).
Coordinate with underwriting teams, Global CUOs and 2nd and 3rd lines of defense (e.g. Risk Management, Internal audit) to learn lessons and continuously improve business processes and controls (first line of defense) across all applicable products and functions.
Maintain the first line of defense framework and processes to ensure compliance with underwriting governance and controls.
Support the Americas Head of Underwriting Governance & Controls by preparing communication materials for the respective governance committees and meetings.
Focus on the individual underwriting unit performance and compliance with UW controls set by GCUO and the Americas Segment Leaders.
Leverage common processes and technology to drive efficiency and simplicity across products and functions, and where applicable across regions (in collaboration with Global CUO and GIO).
Oversight of the quality review process, identification of thematic actions, and developing remediation recommendations.
Monitor and produce regular reports around KPIs.
Produce regular dashboards and scorecards to measure performance against governance and controls.
Required Skills and Abilities
Extensive Underwriting and/or Audit and/or Underwriting Operations experience.
Good understanding of Americas underwriting regulatory and governance requirements.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Robust knowledge of underwriting operations.
Project management experience.
Robust written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Information You will report to the Head of Underwriting Governance & Controls.
Location: Exton, PA (or flexible location). U.S. base salary range: USD 83,500 - 145,500. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location.
