Miller Electric Company is seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of all material and assembly deliveries to project sites. This role ensures that skids, prefabricated assemblies, and other materials arrive on time, in sequence, and in compliance with safety regulations. The Logistics Manager will coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to optimize delivery efficiency, mitigate site congestion, and support critical‑path project milestones.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Delivery Planning & Scheduling

Develop and maintain delivery schedules for skids and prefabricated materials to project sites.

Coordinate delivery windows with general contractors, customers, and site representatives.

Sequence deliveries to align with project milestones and installation priorities.

Adjust schedules dynamically in response to site readiness, delays, or changes in project scope.

Transportation & Vendor Coordination

Arrange transportation resources, including flatbeds, cranes, and carriers, for skid and material deliveries.

Vet, coordinate, and maintain relationships with logistics vendors to ensure reliable, on‑time service.

Resolve transportation issues such as delays, damage, or access restrictions.

Negotiate rates, terms, and service agreements with carriers and transportation vendors as needed.

Site Readiness & Coordination

Confirm site access, laydown areas, and crane/rigging availability with the GC or site leads prior to deliveries.

Communicate delivery schedules to site teams, prefabrication crews, and warehouse staff.

Coordinate just‑in‑time deliveries to minimize site congestion and material handling issues.

Ensure special handling for oversized, sensitive, or critical‑path equipment.

Tracking & Reporting

Maintain records of all deliveries, including date/time, materials, and receiving confirmations.

Track in‑transit shipments and provide real‑time updates to the Program Manager and site teams.

Report delays, shortages, or delivery issues immediately.

Provide weekly logistics summaries highlighting delivery status, risks, and upcoming needs.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and site‑specific delivery requirements.

Verify load securement, rigging, and offloading practices meet safety standards.

Conduct safety briefings with logistics staff and drivers as required.

Maintain documentation of compliance and certifications for transportation vendors.

Leadership & Collaboration

Supervise logistics staff or subcontracted delivery teams as required.

Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to stage outbound deliveries in sequence.

Coordinate with Skid and Prefabrication Managers to prioritize critical‑path deliveries.

Support QA/QC inspections of materials prior to shipment when required.

Qualifications

3+ years of logistics, construction, or material delivery experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.

Experience managing multi‑modal transportation, vendor coordination, and delivery scheduling.

Knowledge of construction sequencing, material handling, and safety compliance standards.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management software, and logistics tracking tools.

Physical Demands

Ability to work in a warehouse, shop, or jobsite environment with moderate noise and varying temperatures.

Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.

Prolonged periods of computer use for scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
