ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors (lecture, lab and clinical instruction) for the Phlebotomy program. Part-time instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time teaching assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Part-time/adjunct faculty in the Phlebotomy program are responsible for teaching the objectives for any course assigned, the assessment of student learning, and reporting of student progress as required by the college and the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.

STARTING PAY AND HOURS
Salary varies based on educational level and number of units taught. Starting rates for the current Academic Year can be viewed on SWIC's Employment page .

Phlebotomy instructional responsibilities through the Medical Laboratory Technology program at the all SWIC campuses with district-wide instructional/clinical responsibilities. Driving may be required to reach off-campus sites, visit clinical facilities throughout the region.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate in phlebotomy required. Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology preferred.
- Three (3) years professional experience minimum in a variety of medical settings.
- Must meet and continue to maintain professional standards established by the program's accrediting agencies, including National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences, as applicable.
- Prior teaching experience in an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Technology program is preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and advising skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers, applicable software, and Internet is required.
- Ability to meet, successfully complete and maintain minimum health requirements, drug and/or reference checks required by the college, program accreditation and/or clinical facilities prior to and throughout employment.
- Shall meet the minimum standards of instruction establish by the Administration and the Board of Trustees for any assigned courses.
- A valid driver's license is required.
