Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician

We are seeking a Locum Tenens Psychiatrist in Iowa.

• Position Type: Locum Tenens

• Specialty: Physician - Psychiatry

• Location: Iowa

• Rate: Open & Negotiable

• Shift: Monday - Sunday, 8 AM - 5 PM (7 days on / 7 days off rotation)

• Start Date: June 2025

• End Date: Ongoing

• Patient Population: Ages 6 and up

• Setting: Hospital - Inpatient

• Responsibilities:

  • Inpatient Psychiatry (Adult & Adolescent Units)

  • Hospital Consults, ER Consults

  • Supervising APPs

  • Rotating call duties (weeknight & weekend possible)

• Required Procedures:

  • Family Therapy, Group Therapy

  • Pharmacotherapy, Seclusion Therapy

  • Restraint Application, Voluntary Commitments

• EMR System: Cerner

• Support Staff: 2 Advanced Practice Providers

• Days Per Month: Full-time rotating schedule

• On-Call/Weekends: As needed

• Board Certified in Psychiatry - REQUIRED

• Must be able to work 7 days on / 7 days off - REQUIRED

• Active IA License or IMLC - REQUIRED

• Inpatient Experience - REQUIRED

• Experience treating patients ages 6+ - REQUIRED

• Experience with specified psychiatric conditions and treatments - REQUIRED

• 2+ years of inpatient psychiatry experience - HIGHLY PREFERRED
