Neonatology Physician

We are seeking a Permanent Neonatologist in Kansas.

Shift: Combination of 8-hour and 24-hour shifts on a 7-week rotating schedule

• Patient Population: Neonatal

• Setting: Level-III, 60-bed NICU

• Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-house neonatal care and backup call from home

  • Participate in a well-established, 8-physician practice

  • Manage a high-volume unit with approximately 6,000 deliveries per year

  • Conduct admissions and oversee an average daily census of 54 patients

  • Perform neonatal procedures except ECMO and heart surgery

  • Collaborate with residents and nurse practitioners

  • Engage in QI and research opportunities through affiliation with KU School of Medicine Wichita

• Required Procedures: Neonatal critical care management

• EMR System: Not specified

• Support Staff: Residents, nurse practitioners, and a multidisciplinary team

• Days Per Month: Approximately 170 hours per month of in-house coverage

• On-Call/Weekends: In-house call and backup call from home

• Required:

  • Board Certified in Pediatrics

  • Board Eligible (within 5 years of fellowship) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine

  • Fellowship-trained in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (must be completed before start date)

  • Kansas medical license (or willingness to obtain)

• Preferred:

  • Clean malpractice and license history
