Conflicts Attorney

As a Conflicts Attorney, you will be a crucial part of the firm’s intake and risk management process. You’ll review conflict reports, analyze potential legal and business conflicts, work closely with partners and leadership on conflict resolution, and ensure the firm’s compliance with ethical and professional responsibility standards. This role sits at the intersection of legal research, compliance, firm operations, and partner-facing advisory work.
What You’ll Do
Review and interpret conflict check reports related to new business intake, client onboarding, and firm hiring
Identify potential legal, ethical, and business conflicts, offering clear written and verbal analyses to partners and firm leaders
Draft conflict waivers and manage the waiver request/approval process
Implement and maintain ethical walls and screening procedures
Assist with conflict checks on new hires, providing detailed analysis and working directly with the recruiting team and incoming attorneys
Provide oversight and guidance to a team of specialists preparing conflict reports, including corporate family research and data verification
Assist in drafting and editing engagement letters
Respond to inquiries regarding intake policies, conflicts rules, and firm procedures
Take on periodic special projects related to risk management and operational improvement
Remain available for time-sensitive matters, including occasional evening or weekend support
What You Bring
Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in good standing
1–6 years of conflicts, compliance, or related experience within a corporate law firm
Experience with conflicts systems (Intapp preferred; Aderant a plus)
Strong research skills and comfort working with databases and analytical tools
Excellent communication skills—clear, concise, and partner-facing
Ability to manage details meticulously while meeting strict deadlines
Strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to mentor or guide junior staff when
$120,000 - $150,000 a year
