JBS is seeking an hourly 2nd SHIFT Quality Lead Team Member! Position starts at $ 24 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct quality assurance testing and verify and accurately document products and raw materials on the plant floor. This includes:

In-process and finished product quality checks to ensure compliance with established specifications and temperature requirements.

Label validation to meet regulatory requirements (tare weights, UPC codes, legibility, establishment number, pricing and correct product identification).

Incoming ingredient compliance with visual and temperature requirements.

Sell‑by and product dates on product runs.

Investigate and determine the cause(s) of quality defects and communicate with the production team.

Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

Work with other leads and supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments to ensure Quality Department coverage.

Communicate to leads and supervisors when a product is out of specification.

Assist in validating plant-wide compliance with GMPs and employee safety rules.

Assist leadership in root‑cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

Train new team members as needed.

Work independently or within a team as needed.

Prepare daily reports, paperwork, and blue‑label sheets as needed.

Stay current with knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, standards, policies, procedures, and product specifications.

Verify calibration of equipment.

Maintain communication and updates as required by leadership.

Perform detailed inspections, testing, and documentation.

Trained and qualified in pre‑operation activities.

Trained and qualified in HACCP documentation and activities.

Direct and lead a group of employees involved in inspection and quality procedures about in‑process material and finished products to ensure quality standards are achieved.

Plan and assist work of the quality team as needed.

Maintain expectations, morale, and harmonious relations among subordinates.

Evaluate and communicate personnel performance or training needs.

Maintain accurate quality records.

Compile and maintain accurate quality inspection records and reports.

May assume other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Prefer High School Diploma or equivalent certification

Prefer experience in food manufacturing/and or quality.

Ability to speak, read, and write English

Good verbal and written communication skills

Must be well-organized with g ood attention to detail

Display strong work ethics and positive attitude

Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction

Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance

Ability to work independently or as a team and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instruction and communicate findings with QA & Production Leads, and Supervisors.

Activities Validating manufacturing work on the plant floor, standing for long hours, bending, stooping, and lifting.

Hearing Must be able to hear average or normal conversations to receive information, occasionally with loud background noise in the working environment.

Repetitive Motion Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.

Visual Abilities Average, ordinary visual acuity is necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.

Physical Strength Regularly or frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions Must be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, where it is loud, wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are around 34‑degrees. Employees are expected to remain in these conditions throughout the workday.
