Save Job

At Xovis, we develop hardware and software for precise people flow management — always with full respect for data privacy. Our solutions are made in Germany and Switzerland and trusted by customers worldwide. We are committed to our customers’ success and create a sense of safety and comfort for people on the move.

Our highly precise 3D vision technology, combined with AI-powered analytics, is the foundation of our success. With more than 230 team members worldwide, we’ve maintained our start‑up spirit while scaling globally.

To strengthen our leadership team, we are seeking a visionary and hands‑on Vice President of Engineering (m/f/d) who will play a key role in shaping the future of our technology and leading our Berlin R&D organization.

What Awaits You In this pivotal role, you will lead the Berlin R&D site with approximately 30 engineers across software development (both embedded and cloud), hardware development, and testing teams. You will act as a key interface between our two R&D locations in Berlin and Zollikofen (Switzerland), Product Management, and Executive Management, ensuring that technical execution aligns with business and product strategy.

The position reports disciplinarily to the local Managing Director in Berlin and functionally to the CTO of the Xovis Group.

Provide technical and disciplinary leadership, fostering motivation, ownership, and technical excellence.

Coordinate R&D activities across multiple sites in close collaboration with the VP Engineering in Switzerland and the Group CTO, as well as with our entire agile leadership crew, which includes roles such as Product Owners and System Architects.

Foster intercultural collaboration in a diverse setup spanning hardware to frontend development across both development sites.

Define and oversee agile development processes according to the Essential SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) approach; ensure adherence to agile principles and drive continuous process improvement.

Contribute strategically to the product and technology roadmap in alignment with Product Management and Executive Leadership.

Recruit, mentor, and grow local engineering talent while promoting a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Manage resource planning and budgets for the engineering teams.

Foster an innovation‑driven engineering culture focused on quality, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Actively support the agile organization as a servant leader, for example by taking on the role of Release Train Engineer.

What Sets You Apart

Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Several years of leadership experience in R&D, ideally in an international technology environment.

Proven experience with agile development processes (ideally SAFe) and implementing agile organizational structures.

Strong technical background in software development (ideally both embedded and cloud), with experience in algorithmic design and hardware development considered a strong plus.

Excellent communication and facilitation skills — both strategic and operational.

High level of social competence, team orientation, and the ability to inspire and align teams around common goals.

Fluent in English and German (spoken and written).
