AdventHealth Tampa, a 626-bed tertiary care center in the AdventHealth West Florida Division (comprising 14 hospitals), is seeking a
board-certified, highly motivated, and experienced Chief of Cardiac Surgery
for the Pepin Heart Institute. The ideal candidate should be accomplished in all facets of cardiothoracic surgery, capable of leading a team of cardiovascular surgeons, and interested in research and teaching.
Requirements:
Board certification
Florida medical license
5+ years of CT Surgery Chief experience
Located in the uptown district of Tampa, AdventHealth Tampa serves Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and surrounding counties. The hospital is a leader in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures and recently opened the Taneja Center for Surgery, a state-of-the-art six-story surgical tower. Other specialty services include 24-hour emergency care, cardiovascular medicine, digestive health, neuroscience, orthopedics, women's services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine, and new residency programs starting in 2023-2024.
The Pepin Heart Institute offers comprehensive cardiovascular services and is accredited by the American College of Cardiology. It features centers for transcatheter valve therapy, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, and myocardial infarction therapy, and holds the National Center of Distinction designation as a HeartCare Center. Active cardiovascular research is supported by the AdventHealth Research Institute.
This is an employed position with AdventHealth Medical Group, which emphasizes leading technology, innovation, and compassionate care. Compensation includes a salary guarantee with productivity incentives, malpractice coverage, paid leave, CME days, PDO allowance, retirement plan, health insurance, and relocation allowance. The group employs over 700 physicians across Tampa Bay, Ocala, and Heartland areas, allowing physicians to focus on clinical care.
