How you will help drive the future of natural gas The Regulatory Coordination – Lead is responsible for managing the accurate and timely submission of all regulatory documents for Peoples Gas System, Inc. and SeaCoast Transmission Pipeline to federal and state regulatory agencies. This role maintains the Regulatory Affairs case management system website and utilizes FERC‑mandated and department‑specific software, requiring technical analysis and knowledge of relational databases. The position also provides support with Peoples Gas rate case activities.

What You Need To Succeed

Associate’s degree from an accredited college in a relevant field.

6 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities of this position, including work in regulatory administration areas, such as regulatory agencies or law firms.

Strong knowledge and understanding of utility operations, general business procedures, and regulatory agency functions to perform independently.

Extensive knowledge and understanding of the reporting requirements for utility retail and federal tariffs and Florida administrative code rules.

Above‑average proficiency in MS Word and proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare and file official documents and annual submissions (such as petitions, tariffs, testimony, interrogatories, document production, and data requests) for Peoples Gas System, Inc. and SeaCoast Pipeline Transmission with various state and federal regulatory agencies.

Serve as a liaison between departments and regulatory agencies to address reported variances or deficiencies. Ensure that the content and format comply with regulatory requirements and are accurate and precise before being delivered to the various regulatory agencies or formal hearings.

Assist with coordinating Peoples Gas rate cases, including rate case orientation, preparation and formatting of testimony, management of the discovery response process, and support at hearing.

Develop and maintain the coordination of the Regulatory Affairs Intranet website (company‑wide) by ensuring timely updates of company tariff changes and maintaining the Regulatory calendar. Monitor and provide same‑day responses to key participants on all FPSC Agenda Conference items.

Serve as a key liaison between internal departments and state/federal regulatory agencies, proactively resolving variances and ensuring all filings meet regulatory standards.

Monitor and communicate regulatory activities pending before the FERC, FPSC, and other state regulatory agencies, including reviewing legal filings for changes to the Florida Administrative Code, Florida Statutes, proposed rulemaking, and communicating necessary compliance issues required by Peoples Gas and SeaCoast.

Competitive Edge

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

1 year of direct supervisory experience.

Proficiency in TariffShark and other federal regulatory software.

Strong understanding of utility operations, business procedures, and regulatory agency functions.

Familiarity with reporting requirements for utility retail, federal tariffs, and Florida Administrative Code rules.

Skilled in building collaborative relationships, developing teams, and driving innovation in dynamic environments.

Incident Response Assignment Our community relies on Peoples Gas to respond swiftly and effectively to all types of incidents, including but not limited to major storm events (e.g., extreme cold, tropical storms, hurricanes), gas leaks, equipment failures, environmental hazards, and other emergencies that may impact public safety or service continuity. Regulatory staff is essential during such incidents. As a Team Member of Peoples Gas, you will be assigned an Incident Response Assignment, receive training related to your role, and may participate in mock drills or exercises simulating various emergency scenarios.
