AI SOLUTIONS ENGINEER: THE OPPORTUNITY AI is no longer just a research concept – it’s becoming an essential part of how complex enterprises operate, compete, and deliver value. You’ll help architect, build, and deploy intelligent, agentic solutions that work across legacy infrastructure, modern platforms, and various stakeholder needs.

In this role, you’ll work closely with senior architects, platform leads, and business stakeholders to design AI‑enabled systems that solve meaningful problems across enterprise and mission environments. You’ll gain exposure to next‑generation tooling, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, and AI agents, while contributing to high‑impact efforts that demand both technical skill and strategic insight. RESPONSIBILITIES • Design and develop AI‑enabled features or prototypes using LLMs, embeddings, or third‑party APIs, including OpenAI or Anthropic. • Build backend services and RESTful APIs that integrate AI capabilities into existing systems. • Follow code‑review practices, document work, and maintain clean, reusable code. • Leverage cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their AI or ML services. • Work with vector databases or search frameworks (OpenSearch or Weaviate) to support context‑aware AI solutions. • Collaborate with senior architects and business stakeholders to translate complex operational challenges into AI‑driven solutions. • Utilize prompt engineering principles and LLM SDKs or frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex. • Engage with next‑generation AI tooling and contribute to high‑impact initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years of experience with machine learning engineering in software or data engineering roles.

Experience building AI‑enabled features or prototypes using LLMs, embeddings, or third‑party APIs, including OpenAI or Anthropic.

Experience with basic prompt engineering concepts and LLM SDKs or frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.

Proficiency with Python.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their AI/ML services.

Experience with vector databases or search frameworks (OpenSearch or Weaviate).

Experience developing backend services and consuming or building RESTful APIs.

Ability to follow code‑review practices, document work, and maintain clean, reusable code.

Secret clearance.

HS diploma or GED.

ENJOYABLE ADDITIONAL SKILLS (Nice If You Have)

Experience with AI‑assisted development tools such as Cursor, Cline, Windsurf, or Claude Code.

Experience with AI agent frameworks (LangChain or LlamaIndex).

Experience with open‑source AI projects like Ollama or personal projects involving generative AI.

Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, or containerization tools such as Docker.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

SECURITY CLEARANCE Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret clearance is required.

COMPENSATION Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors including location, education, skills, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is \$77,600.00 to \$176,000.00 (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.
