As we continue to expand our investment capabilities, we are seeking a Senior Quanter to strengthen our research team and contribute original, high-impact ideas that directly influence our investment strategies.

Position Summary The Senior Quantitative Researcher will play an important role in shaping Nipun Capital’s research agenda, leading the development and implementation of quantitative equity models and investment strategies. This role requires deep financial knowledge, strong analytical skills, and creative thinking to identify new alpha opportunities, analyze complex datasets, and implement new strategies and products.

Key Responsibilities Research & Strategy Development

Develop and validate new alpha ideas for stock selection models.

Investigate optimal methods to implement alpha signals in portfolios.

Analyze large, structured, unstructured, traditional, and alternative datasets to generate actionable insights. \ Contribute original and high-impact research ideas that enhance investment strategies.

Support the development of new investment products and strategies.

Platform & Tools

Enhance existing research platform, including backtest modules, performance attribution systems, and other proprietary research tools.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with portfolio managers to integrate research findings into trading strategies.

Present complex investment ideas clearly and compellingly to the investment team, clients, prospects and at conferences.

Leadership & Mentorship

Mentor and guide junior researchers to foster professional growth and produce high-quality research.

Help set research priorities and strategic goals for the research team.

Ideal Candidate Profile Experience and Expertise:

Advanced degree in quantitative field or in Finance or Accounting. 5+ years of experience in systematic stock selection research, or a closely related field within the asset management industry. Expertise in all areas of systematic equity research, including idea generation, data analysis, signal coding, signal testing, backtesting and implementation. A track record of successfully implementing new alpha ideas and have demonstrated leadership ability within the research team.

Skills and Competencies:

Innovative thinker with the ability to come up with novel alpha ideas; solid understanding of portfolio construction and optimization, risk modeling, performance attribution, and transaction cost analysis; knowledgeable with the applications of AI/ML and LLM to quantitative finance; proficiency in Python programming for research and data analysis; excellent communication and presentation skills; strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, direct, and inspire junior researchers; highly motivated, results-oriented, and able to operate with autonomy and accountability; ability to help define strategic goals for research and development.
