! About the Role
Forward Deployed Engineers are the bridge between sales and our product by ensuring that customers are able to deploy assistants quickly and without friction. This role will require you to solve technical issues that arise during any phase of the customer journey and act as a champion of Vapi within the organization to identify what other use cases we can solve. What You'll Do
Act as the technical account owner for an enterprise customer relationship once a new deal closes - you will act be the primary PM + engineer both for their team and ours to drive project progress during the pilot period
Work hand-in-hand with the engineers involved in the project to ensure their technical asks are delivered
Be involved in forming the technical scope of work necessary for a successful integration of Vapi within an enterprise - determine which asks are hard requirements vs what can be done with existing functionality
Facilitate communications with key project stakeholders including engineers and VPs to ensure pilot success
Who You Are
2+ years of hands on experience shipping products and interacting with enterprise customers - you need to be able to deliver features and speak to enterprise teams from day 1
Experience with Typescript + Node or similar backend framework, prompt engineering. using LLM agents, and ideally building Vapi assistants
Communication: You can clearly articulate what's going on to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Cracked-ness: You’re more cracked than the most cracked person on the team
Organization: You naturally gravitate toward building systems that stand the test of time
Startup Ready: You have a reason to be here and can make sacrifices for something uncertain
Founder Juice: New ideas come from you, you build it yourself or annoy everyone until it’s done ;)
